What Do FIFA Basic, FIFA Quality, and FIFA Quality Pro Mean?

Football certifications tell you that a ball has been tested to specific performance standards. Here’s what each level means:

FIFA Basic (formerly IMS): Entry-level certification. Tests weight, circumference, sphericity, pressure loss, water absorption, and rebound. Confirms the ball is suitable for competitive play at grassroots level. Our Training range (Titan, Vortex, Blaze) and Fusion all pass this standard.

FIFA Quality: Mid-level. Same tests but with tighter tolerances — narrower weight range, stricter sphericity, more demanding pressure loss limits. Our Match range (Striker, Eclipse, Apex) passes this standard.

FIFA Quality Pro: The highest standard. The most stringent testing with additional assessments. This is the level used for FIFA tournament match balls. Our Elite Pro passes this standard.

What Gets Tested?

• Weight: Must fall within a specific range (420–445g for Size 5 at higher levels)

• Circumference: 68–70cm for Size 5

• Sphericity: Diameter must be consistent from multiple angles

• Pressure Loss: How much air the ball loses over a set period

• Water Absorption: How much water is absorbed when tested

• Rebound: Bounce-back height from a standardised drop

• Shape Retention: 2,000 kicks at high speed; shape and pressure must hold
